Basil is a founding partner and well known and respected in the industry. Some say he has hospitality in his DNA.
He started his career with a leading hotel group as a Management Trainee before joining the team at Thistle Hotels. He was soon responsible for managing Food & Beverage and Rooms in some pretty deluxe hotels before taking on the role of General manager at a private members club in Mayfair.
Entrepreneur Basil then bought a hotel in South Wales where he gained two rosettes and excellent reports in hotel guides including Johansen’s. Missing the bustle of London life Basil returned to take up the position of Head of Catering at the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square.
Managing Contract Catering teams was his role for 9 years before a side step into Recruitment and Training Manager for Aramark and then as Head of Resourcing for Restaurant Associates, the fine dining division of Compass Group.
Basil is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality (formerly the HCIMA), HR in Hospitality committee member and on the London Regional Board of Hospitality Action. He gets hospitality from every angle.
